6.5 PROFESSIONAL TRAINING COURSES
Italian regions (and other public boards) organise professional training courses that may be attended also by foreigners. Most of these courses require possession of diploma di scuola media inferiore.
Registration requests must be presented from 1 to 31 of July at the boards that organise these courses.
For registration with courses registration with placement office is required. Length and time tables of courses vary.
Courses are free and supply students with didactic material, insurance and transport expense reimbursement.
At end of course, if student passes exam, student receives a qualification certificate.
Courses are divided into sectors, following are a few of them:
- artisan sector;
- industry;
- commercial;
- information;
- tourism-reception.
The course are on three different levels:
1st level courses: for unemployed young people under the age of 20 who acquitted the scholastic obligations, or uninployed people over the age of 25;
2nd level courses: for unemployed young people with a secondary school diploma under the age of 25 or uninployed people over the age of 25;
3rd level courses: for unemployed young people with a bachelor under the age of 27.
The regional courses are organized in 4 different ways:
- Direct management: courses directly organized and managed by the Regional Professional Formation Centre (CFPR), with operators of the Regione Lazio. They are completely free and are courses of 1st and 2nd level.
- Conventioned management: courses organized by the Professional Formation Centres (CFP), which are private societies working in convention with the Regione Lazio. Operators and structures are of the society managing the course but respecting the rules established in the conventions with the Regione Lazio. The courses are completely free and are courses of 1st , 2nd and 3rd level.
- Social European Fund: courses financed with European funds after the approval of projects presented by private and public actors in order to improve employment, professional re-qualifying and working integration of disadvantaged people. An updated list of these projects is published on the web site or the Regione Lazio, also available on the page 507 of the RAITRE Televideo
- Authorized courses: courses authorized with specific deliberations of the Giunta regionale. These courses are not free and are directed to complete the formative system. They are open to the people with the required qualification. The Regione Lazio controls these courses according to the Law n°23/92. the list of the authorized private schools is available in the Regional Department for School Formation and Labour or in the web site of the Regione.
Can accede the courses the unemployed people, but also workers (for re-qualifying or specialisation) and the disadvantaged people like people with handicap, immigrants, nomads, drug-addiction victims, people in detention or after detention.
The age and the studying qualification required are different for each course.
Registration for these courses generally happen in the month of july within the Formation Centres. The period of registration to specific courses depends on the single course and can take place asking for information in the Orientation centres of the Regione Lazio where it is also possible to see the announcements, the expiration for the access, the qualification required.
The Professional Orientation Centres are a service directly managed by the Regione Lazio: they offer a support in choosing the formative and professional address. They also give information about the formation activities of the Regione Lazio.
Documents to present
- signed registration request (by a parent if minor aged)
- form C/15 released by the Employment Centre (only for courses with this admission requisite) or a self-declaration which confirms the unemployment condition;
- copy of the school graduation;
- copy of an identity document;
- certificates like birth, residence, Italian citizenship, family (if required in the announcements )
