5.5 VACCINATIONS

Vaccinations are necessary in order for children to attend school. At moment of registration at school (see Chpt. V) parents must show the documentation that certifies the fact that child has undergone vaccinations provided by law.

COMPULSORY VACCINATIONS FOR CHILDREN (FREE)

Anti-diphtheria, anti-tetanus, anti-polio, anti-hepatitis B they are given at the punti sanità (health points) upon inviting families with notification by post.

RECOMMANDED VACCINATIONS FOR CHILDREN (FREE)

for these diseases exist vaccination campaigns promoted by Ministry of Health or by the Regions; they are done at the punti sanità presenting families with illustrated pamphlets on vaccination. Written consent on adhesion to supply vaccine to child is required from parents.

Anti-measles, anti-rubella, anti-parotitis, anti-whooping cough
Antihaemophicus and antipneumococcus

Antihaemophicus e anitipneumococco
Are free for those categories of people in risk conditions

OPTIONAL VACCINATIONS SUCH AS

Anti-hepatitis B in non risk categories, anti-cholera, anti-leptospirosy, anti-meningitis, anti-rabies, anti-typhoid
are done at the punti sanità on request of interested person, and are paid for according to tariffs stated by current regional price list.

At the punti sanità Vaccination Certificates necessary for registration at schools and to accede to infantile communities may be requested.
