2.3.1 IDENTITY CARD

Requested at the Register Office of Comune of residence.

For issue of identity card it is necessary to be in possession of anagraphic or residence registration. An identity card is one of those documents that can be exhibited by foreigners in case of police control, it is valid only within the Italian territory and has the same validity as a residence permit.

2.3.2 REGISTRY CERTIFICATES

Under request of concerned persons, the Comune can issue:

Birth certificate, if born in Italy or if birth has been registered in the Comune;
Residence certificate;
Family status;
Marriage certificate (if marriage has been contracted in Italy or registered in the Comune);
Death certificate (if death occurred in Italy or has been registered in the Comune).
